Aluminum Substrate
Aluminum sheet onto which a thin foil pcb is glued. The intimate thermal contact between solder pads and aluminum substrate allows for the dissipation of large amounts of heat energy. To achieve this, the aluminum substrate is mounted directly onto the heat sink. This is used most frequently in the field of power electronics and, in increasing frequency, also in the LED lighting technology.
