Flame retardants are used in the manufacture of the Pcb's and the package of electronic components. They should reduce or retard the spread in case of an accident. Currently, the use of these chemicals is highly disputed, since their presence in the human organism has been shown. Since the implementation of RoHS, use of some of these chemicals has been prohibited.
