Lambda Nozzle or Wave

In the wave soldering process, a number of different wave geometries are available. The most common used nozzle shapes are the Lambda- and the Wörthmann Nozzles. The Lambda nozzle excels with an accelerated solder flow, which runs opposite the direction of board travel. The flushing effect generated assist in wetting the lands and pins. In the area where the board separates from the wave, the exit zone, the solder does not flow freely but is pushed by the moving board and assumes the travel speed of the board in the conveyor. This allows the solder to drain off without hindrance.
