Ersa and Bergen at Productronica India

At the beginning of the 2000s, the concept of the Productronica trade fair, which was developed in Germany, was adapted and expanded for the growing markets in China and India. Today, Productronica India is the country´s leading trade fair for the development and production of electronics. Together with their Indian representative Bergen Associates Pvt. Ltd., Ersa was exhibiting at this year’s event, which took place from 25 to 27 September in Greater Noida, 40 kilometers southeast of the city center of Delhi.

Large-format displays and video clips showed the latest Ersa technologies in the area of soldering machines and were both an attraction and a basis for discussion. Numerous live demos were carried out at the exhibited HR 600/2 hybrid rework system and application support was provided for the assemblies visitors had brought along. Of particular interest was the device´s high degree of automation, due to which users of the HR 600/2 are able to master the increased requirements of complex assemblies.

With regard to visitors and exhibitors, both numbers declined compared to the record year 2018. Reason for this is primarily the BSES (Bharat Stage Emission Standards) introduced by the Indian government to regulate the emission of air pollutants and its influence on the automotive industry. In order to comply with the new BS VI emission standards (Bharat Stage 6, comparable to the Euro 6 standard), technical solutions are currently being worked on in this area.

Area Sales Manager Christian Ott was nevertheless very satisfied with the exhibition: “Despite the lower number of visitors, we were able to welcome many visitors to our booth. In general, the market is expected to see an upturn and increasing investments from mid-2020 onwards, which has also been confirmed by discussions with existing and new customers.” The entire team was pleased with the consistently positive feedback on the performance of the systems and the excellent customer support on site in India.
