The i-CON VARIO 4 multi-channel soldering and desoldering station meets highest demands in professional soldering and desoldering. This brand new flagship of the Ersa i-CON line offers the user 4 tools to master difficult soldering applications: the new and ergonomic i-TOOL AIR S hot-air iron (200 W) for flexible soldering and desoldering with non-contact heat transfer, the i-TOOL soldering iron providing a powerful 150 W for efficient soldering, the new CHIP TOOL VARIO desoldering tweezers (80 W) for precise desoldering of smallest SMDs and the proven X-TOOL desoldering iron (120 W) for desoldering of leaded components. Alternatively, further Ersa tools can also be connected.
All functions, including the generation of the air flow and vacuum required in the process, are bundled in the supply unit, which is equipped with the easy-to-operate i-OP facility and clearly arranged displays. Furthermore the station also provides interfaces for Ersa solder fume extraction units or infrared heating plates as well as a USB port.
Configuration of the station is quick and safe via a micro SD card so that it is optimally prepared for all applications in professional electronic manufacturing. The i-CON VARIO is also perfectly suited for the use in ESD environments.
Users of the i-CON VARIO 2 can operate two soldering tools at the same time: Together with the new i-TOOL AIR S hot-air iron they may simultaneously use the i-TOOL for classical soldering or the new CHIP TOOL VARIO desoldering tweezers. Further Ersa tools can be connected. The compact and ESD safe supply unit provides for a simple operation with clearly arranged operator surface. The i-CON VARIO 2 is also equipped with interfaces for Ersa solder fume extractions and heating plates. Just like the i-CON VARIO 4, simple and safe configuration via micro SD card also applies for the i-CON VARIO 2.
The new i-TOOL AIR S hot-air iron
Ergonomic, handy and strong performance - that is an apt description of the i-TOOL AIR S. Its slim and lightweight handle incorporates a 200 W heating element and provides for non-exhausting treatment of various SMD components. The air flow is adjusted directly at the handle whereas the air quantity set (2 - 20 l/min) is clearly visible on the display of an i-CON VARIO 2 or 4. Even most delicate chip resistors can be soldered safely due to the exact air flow regulation. Different nozzle geometries are available to ensure an optimal component heating. As soon as the i-TOOL AIR S is removed from its holder a motion sensor activates the tool, and by means of an IR sensor the i-TOOL AIR S can be switched on and off without pushing a button.
The new CHIP TOOL VARIO desoldering tweezers
High power (2 x 40 W) and compact design are the outstanding features of the CHIP TOOL VARIO desoldering tweezers. Thus this tool is perfectly suited to desolder very small SMD components. Its plug-in-type heating element pairs can be aligned precisely in the handle, and exchanging them is quick and easy. The tweezers operating mode (clamping or gripping) is set by means of a switch in the handle. Like the i-TOOL and i-TOOL AIR S the CHIP TOOL VARIO is equipped with a motion sensor to re-activate this precision tool out of the standby mode.
