The IPC APEX EXPO from 29 to 31 January 2019 was once again the largest meeting place for the electronics manufacturing industry in North America and the official start of the US business year. More than 9,000 experts from 45 countries travelled to San Diego, California, to learn about the latest technologies and trends and to exchange ideas. Of course, Ersa GmbH was also represented at APEX as system supplier no.1 – due to the huge interest in the past, the entire Ersa portfolio was presented on an even larger area, which caused a lot of traffic at the Ersa booth. Unusually many visitors from the east coast were among them, the interest from Brazil was clearly stronger, whereas the numbers of visitors from Mexico and Central America decreased.

Among others, the following Ersa systems were represented: POWERFLOW wave soldering system, VERSAPRINT 2 Ultra3 stencil printer, HOTFLOW 3/20 reflow soldering system – and of course the market-leading selective soldering technology with VERSAFLOW 4 XL, SMARTFLOW 2020 and VERSAFLOW 3/45, which is an absolute Ersa bestseller with more than 1,000 machines sold. For the first time at APEX, Ersa Automation presented solutions for increased automation in peripherals – such as an open lifting station, a manual workstation, a turntable and a lowering circulating unit.

Ersa Tools also demonstrated the unique range of its soldering tools, in the field of rework systems with HR 200, HR 550, HR 600 and HR 600 XL. Last but not least, the 100% subsidiary globalPoint with its leading measurement technology for all soldering processes was part of the Ersa trade fair appearance. “Every single day of the show there was a veritable rush at our booth – we were able to have numerous one-on-one and group discussions that resulted in numerous orders. A strong start in 2019, which was crowned by the two NPI Innovation Awards for the selective soldering system VERSAFLOW 4 XL and the rework system HR 600 XL,” said a satisfied Ersa General Sales Manager at the end of the trade fair.
