Vision Days “Inspection” at Packtronic

Every year Packtronic invites as Ersa Partner in Italy to the Vision Days in Verderio Superiore, north of Milan – this year Packtronic owner Luca Fiorucci had chosen the motto “Inspection”. Over two days, around 60 customers from all over Italy gathered to find out about current inspection trends. The entertaining event provided ample opportunity for exchange of experience and networking – in the morning there were presentations on inspection with a focus on partner products, in the afternoon visitors were able to experience the entire range of partners live.

Ersa was represented with three products of the continuously growing inspection division. The Tools division presented the ERSASCOPE inspection system, which can be used to evaluate the quality of solder joints under soldered components such as BGAs. On the machine side, the VERSAEYE was shown, an AOI system with nine cameras downstream of the selective soldering process and increasingly required by the customer as process verification. The Ersa VERSAPRINT 2 Ultra³ stencil printer, which combines the printing and 3D solder paste inspection processes in a single machine, was also on display and could be seen live – with increasing demand in tight production conditions and where investment costs play a role. SAKI rounded off the spectrum with a 3D-SPI solder paste inspection and a 3D-AOI system.

Interested customers were given an overview of the entire range of inspection systems from the SMT and THT manufacturing sector. The increasing necessity of such systems as well as the requirements of the market were clearly presented – it became very clear that no way will pass them by in the future. Luca Fiorucci and Ersa Area Sales Manager Tom Berx were ultimately very satisfied with the two days of discussing concrete new projects – the general interest and the market situation in Italy promise an excellent year 2019.
