Copper Layers
Depending on the complexity of the printed circuit boards, varying numbers of copper layers may be needed to accommodate and realize a circuit. The simplest boards have copper only on one side, but the more usual standard in the industry today is double-sided boards, that is, boards with copper on both sides. Highly complex boards also have inner layers of copper, and the proper term for these boards is multilayer boards.
