Finger conveyor

Finger type conveyors are installed in wave soldering systems. They convey electronic assemblies directly and without the use of carriers or pallets over the process modules. This has the advantage that no carriers or pallets needs to be handled, cleaned and continuously monitored for flatness and proper function. Finger type conveyors are most useful if there is little need for conveyor width adjustment, be it because the board width is largely standardized or the batch sizes are large. To hold the board assemblies, the conveyor chains on both sides are provided with either V- or L-shaped fingers. The boards are held in the V or on the L through light, sideways spring action.
