Solder Defect

Solder defect are defect generated during the soldering process. These defects can lead to a disruption of the electrical connection, to shorts or to thermal damages to the assembly or components. Solder defects are, as a rule, visible after soldering, but not always is the solder process itself the root cause for the defect. Rather, the root cause frequently lies in the lack of solderability of the components or the printed circuit board itself.
