Kurtz Ersa, best in class manufacturer of particle foam machines announced a collaboration with Fieldbit, a forerunner in real-time augmented reality (AR) solutions for field services. Kurtz intends to implement Fieldbit’s field service platform for the corporation’s globally leading particle foam machines. “Our vision is to be at the forefront of technology so that we can optimize quality, costs and service for our customers,” said Uwe Rothaug, Managing Director at Kurtz GmbH. “Fieldbit’s AR platform will enable us to provide our customers with the next generation in field service technology, for maximum machine uptime and productivity.”

Fieldbit’s proprietary AR solution combines live video streaming, commercially available smart glasses, and cloud computing to create one shared view of machinery. It will enable the Kurtz on-site engineers to collaborate seamlessly with peers back in the service center, hands-free and in real time. “We are delighted to be collaborating with Kurtz,” said Evyatar Meiron, CEO of Fieldbit. “It is a reflection of the steady increase in demand among capital equipment makers for AR collaboration solutions as a means of delivering even better field service for customers.” To kick-off the collaboration, Fieldbit is joining Kurtz at K 2016 – the world’s number one trade show for plastics and rubber – in Dusseldorf, Germany from October 19-26. Live demos of Fieldbit’s augmented reality platform will be provided at the Kurtz booth, Hall 13, stand B27.
