The core pull makes the difference

Gravity casting is the classic casting process - known for centuries, it still offers potential for improvement. Kurtz has developed a machine concept especially for customer foundries that can be used universally thanks to its modular design.

Flexibility with regard to a wide variety of castings is required. Changeover must be possible without great effort. Kurtz machines easily meet these requirements. The basic machine is also suitable for the requirements of highly complex castings by adding core pulls and additional clamping units. The maximum expansion level of the basic concept are tandem machines: Two molds are run in cycle on one machine, resulting in increased productivity with low space and manpower requirements. As a mobile control and hydraulic unit, a movable hydraulic system offers options for controlling the opening and closing movements of the mold on up to two casting machines. The control concept, which has also been proven in other Kurtz machine types, is used in all systems. The process sequence and movement of the core pulls are controlled via the machine program. A link with an external control system for process management of an entire casting cell thus also offers application possibilities in large-scale production.
