On 01.05.2024, Hubert Baren succeeded the retiring Dr. Michael Wenzel as Managing Director responsible for the Automation business unit. In this role, Hubert Baren is also Managing Director of Kurtz Holding GmbH & Co. Beteiligungs KG and member of the Global Board.
Dr. Michael Wenzel initially worked as a delegate of the Advisory Board in an advisory capacity for the Automation division for six months before becoming Managing Director of the Automation division and a member of the Global Board on April 1, 2021. With his departure on April 30, 2024, Dr. Wenzel looks back on three and a half successful years in the Kurtz Ersa Group and hands over very well-filled order books.
Hubert Baren has been very successful in the global field of electronics automation for decades and will now bring this expertise and his international sales experience to Kurtz Ersa. Hubert Baren studied plant operation technology at the University of Applied Sciences in Hamburg and then worked as an order processor, project planner and project manager for a pump company in the water industry as well as in the petrochemical and refinery sectors.
In 1996, he moved from Hamburg to Belgium to work for the company IPTE. At that time, the company manufactured test and inspection equipment as well as PCB conveyor belts for electronics production. At IPTE, Hubert Baren initially worked as a project manager and then as a sales representative for Northern Europe. In 1999, Hubert Baren moved to sales management for the DACH and Nordic regions and took over the management of IPTE Germany GmbH and the site in Estonia in 2007. In 2010, Hubert Baren was appointed to the Management Board and has been responsible for sales, marketing and strategy worldwide as Chief Commercial Officer since 2016.
The Automation Business Unit and the entire Group would like to thank Dr. Michael Wenzel for his exceptional commitment over the past few years. Thanks to him, the Automation Business Unit has become a firm strategic pillar of the Kurtz Ersa Group.
