In addition to mega-casting, the focus was on topics such as sustainability, the careful use of resources, rapid prototyping, materials testing and efficient services. Despite difficult travel conditions due to black ice, the number of trade visitors in the four exhibition halls was 14,341, significantly higher than the 10,700 visitors at the previous EUROGUSS. 643 exhibitors from 33 countries ensured that the trade fair was fully booked. According to Nürnberg Messe, 60 percent of the exhibitors came from abroad, especially from Italy, Turkey, Spain, Austria and Switzerland. With the representatives of Kurtz Casting Solutions – HERMANN OTTO SUDEROW, S.L. (HOSSL) from Spain and Korkmaz Çelik Tic ve San AŞ from Turkey – the team was ideally positioned for the international trade visitors.
Lower operating costs despite increased output and first-class casting quality
At the booth of Kurtz Casting Solutions, everything revolved around solutions for low pressure casting and trimming technology. Kurtz focused on the topic of energy savings. There is potential for savings at many points in the casting process – whether in the furnace system, pressure maintenance or riser tube system. For example, a Kurtz casting line concept provides an energy-efficient shuttle transport system and avoids unnecessary internal transportation. Forklift traffic is eliminated, thus achieving a better CO2 footprint. With an intelligent hydraulic system, energy is only used when it is needed. The same applies to the use of cooling media via sensor-controlled cooling systems. All these factors have a direct impact on energy and operating costs.
Lothar Hartmann, General Manager of Kurtz Casting Solutions, expressed his joy with the event: “With the low pressure technology, we offer the industry a highly efficient process for the production of chassis parts that outshines die casting and even counter-pressure casting in many respects – this was well received by our visitors at the booth.” Regarding trimming, Hartmann added: “Kurtz builds the fastest trimming presses on the market. Together with large clamping surfaces and high cutting forces in presses that have already been built several times, Kurtz solutions have everything that is needed for the ever shorter cycle times in the die-casting cell. Trimming directly in the die casting cell has further advantages: less logistical effort, a shorter trimming process and an overall more efficient process flow.”
On behalf of Kurtz GmbH & Co. KG, Managing Director Ulrich Bühlmann took part in EUROGUSS for the first time and was very pleased with the trade fair run: “We were able to register a very high level of interest in our casting machines, our economical low pressure casting process and trimming presses. Both the quantity and the quality of the inquiries were just right. Kurtz Casting Solutions will definitely be back at the trade fair in 2026.”
