New Kurtz Ersa production facility in Mexico inaugurated

18.04.2024

Opening in a small circle – Grand Opening to follow on 17.09.2024

Kreuzwertheim/Ciudad Juárez | After the ground-breaking ceremony on July 11, 2023, it took just nine months for Kurtz Ersa México to move into its production facility in Ciudad Juárez. At the “soft opening” on April 12, our management got a perfect impression of the new factory building with 4,500 m2 of production space, offices and demo center.

The move is now taking place step by step and production of the first Ersa reflow systems will start in May. The building offers sufficient production capacity to manufacture several hundred machines in a modern production structure. “It was impressive to see how much space this new hall offers us for further growth. We are a pioneer in the North American market for nearshoring soldering machines – and our customers are already waiting to receive the proven Ersa quality and technology locally. We have created one of the most modern manufacturing facilities in Mexico and are convinced that this step will be a great success for us,” said Albrecht Beck, President & COO of Kurtz Ersa, Inc. (KEI), responsible for the Americas business within the Kurtz Ersa Group.

The opening of the new production facility in Ciudad Juárez will further expand capacities in Mexico. In addition to the existing service and logistics centers in Plymouth (Wisconsin, USA) and Guadalajara (Mexico), Juárez is the third major service and logistics center to be established. The expansion has also resulted in a transfer of know-how from Europe to Mexico, so that even more competent support for Kurtz Ersa customers in the region is now guaranteed – also thanks to the expanded Mexican team.

The new production facility in Ciudad Juárez plays a central role in the production of Ersa soldering machines, and the new Mexican branch also acts as a pre-production facility for the Kurtz plant in the USA. Initially, the plant will focus on the production of Ersa HOTFLOW reflow soldering systems. “In view of the rapid growth in North and South America, the new production facility in Chihuahua will better serve local customers, minimize the carbon footprint, shorten delivery times and reduce freight costs,” explained KEI President Albrecht Beck. The local Mexico team has already completed several weeks of training at Ersa GmbH to gain the necessary know-how and can now hardly wait to start assembling the first parts. Thanks to the global sourcing and transfer team, a fast ramp-up is ensured – thanks for the great commitment of everyone involved!
