Ready to go for two-wheeled e-mobility!

Successful Ersa appearance at Productronica India

Wertheim/Bangalore | Ersa GmbH, the world´s leading system supplier for Electronics Production, looks back on an extremely successful participation at Productronica India 2023 in the electronics metropolis of Bangalore. The trade fair team – consisting of Ersa sales people from Germany and colleagues from Kurtz Ersa India – presented an impressive range of innovative solutions at the booth.

On the machine side, the focus was on the VERSAFLOW ONE, which marks the entry into Ersa´s selective soldering technology, which has been proven thousands of times worldwide. The VERSAFLOW ONE combines top quality with a compact footprint – under its sheet metal dress it carries proven Ersa technologies in the form of the most popular and most frequently ordered features. At the same time, it offers maximum availability at attractive acquisition and operating costs. A real crowd-puller was a light electric motorcycle with a range of 120 km, presented for the first time at the Ersa booth, which is produced on Ersa soldering systems of the type VERSAFLOW (selective) and POWERFLOW (wave). A fantastic exhibit, as two-wheeled mobility is an eminently important factor in India – the Indian subcontinent concentrates around one-sixth of global two-wheeler sales (16.2 million motorcycles in India in 2022) and accounts for more than three-quarters of Indian traffic! The Indian government plans to require two-wheelers with less than 150 cc displacement to be emission-free from 2025. Already in 2022, around 630,000 e-scooters and e-motorcycles were sold in India – an increase of more than 500%! Even the widely used three-wheeled tuk-tuks will only be allowed to be registered as e-mobiles by the end of 2023.

Another highlight was the i-CON TRACE IoT soldering station, which with its intelligent networking and state-of-the-art functions now also enables seamless traceability in manual soldering. Thanks to integrated WLAN, Bluetooth and network card, the i-CON TRACE can be completely integrated into MES-controlled production processes, making the entire hand soldering process traceable and documentable. Equally impressive was the HR 500 rework system, which provides complete Ersa hybrid rework technology for budget-oriented users and enables flexible desoldering, placement and soldering of SMT components. “Productronica India 2023 was a great success and confirmed once again that our products and solutions meet the needs of the electronics industry in the Indian market across the board. We had countless highly interesting discussions with customers and interested parties – it´s incredible what potential the Indian market offers for electronics production. In the three days here, we have once again received confirmation that the strategic expansion with the new India Office in Bangalore was spot on,” said Ersa General Sales Manager Rainer Krauss.
