Shenzhen goes Zero Emission!

28.05.2018

Wertheim/Shenzhen | Shenzhen is the first city in China to convert its complete local public transport fleet to environmentally-friendly electric buses. This means that within a very short time, 16,000 electric buses will be on the road in the dynamic metropolis in south-eastern China to transport people from A to B emission-free.

Shenzhen is just one example of a clear trend in the country with the largest population in the world – China is supporting ZEVs (Zero Emission Vehicles). The key technology for electric driving is quite clearly battery production.

The CIBF – China International Battery Fair – took place for the 13th time in Shenzhen from 22 to 24 May this year, giving companies from the field of battery production the opportunity to showcase their products. Ersa was among them with a virtual presentation of its machines, which are mainly required for production of the Battery Management System (BMS). The BMS is an electronic assembly that controls the discharging and charging of the individual battery cells of a large battery in such a way that optimum performance is consistently given. At this year’s CIBF, Ersa cooperated with the VDMA, which organised a collective stand for many German companies. “In cooperation, we can jointly transport German know-how specifically to the most important battery market,” Ulrich Dosch, Manager Key Accounts & Business Development Kurtz Ersa Asia, emphasised.
