From rapid prototyping to series casting: There are many good reasons for the use of Kurtz sand casting systems. That is why Kurtz low-pressure casting technology is used at the top addresses. For example, in the highest classes of international racing, where various teams already rely on the advantages of controlled mould filling and produce their prototypes and racing engines on Kurtz systems.
The automotive industry is not the only sector that has great interest in Kurtz low-pressure casting technology with its precise pressure control. There are further applications in the aerospace industry - or wherever every gram counts in order to keep moving masses as small as possible. Alternative alloys are increasingly becoming an issue here. After all, aluminum has long since ceased to be the only metal cast on Kurtz low-pressure casting machines. This casting technology offers potential from aluminum bronze, for example in shipbuilding, to magnesium for general lightweight construction.
Kurtz sand casting machines offer a wide range of applications - from chemically bonded sand moulds to constructions with green sand moulding machines to plaster moulds for parts with high demands on contour accuracy. Fine structures of 1 mm wall thickness are possible in investment casting in ceramic moulds. The parts are as varied as the moulds. From small parts weighing only a few kg to housings with 260 kg and more cast weight - from high-tech prototype single parts to large series applications.
